These chairs are a tribute to a cherished childhood memory of playing in my grandma's backyard with my sister and cousin. My grandma had four patio chairs—two that rocked and two that didn't. As the youngest, I always got the second pick, which meant I was given one of the non-rocking chairs while they got the "surfing" chairs. They’d stand on their chairs, rocking back and forth, pretending to ride the waves, while I sat puzzled, asking why mine wouldn’t move. They’d insist I was doing it wrong or claim I was rocking, even though I couldn’t feel it. Every time I see those same chairs at my grandma’s house today, I’m transported back to that sunlit backyard, full of laughter, imagination, and a simple joy that lingers in my heart.
